Madi Lee

About

Madi Lee is a director, choreographer and resident creative who's spent the last 15 years working across some of the biggest rooms in Australian musical theatre, usually somewhere between leading the show and holding someone else's together. Some of her fondest productions to date include various Hayes Theatre Co productions, including the Australian premiere of Razorhurst and Half Time, touring nationally as Choreographer and Associate Director on the 25th Anniversary Tour of Jekyll & Hyde, and the international tour of Hi-5. Her choreography has also featured on Les Misérables with Neil Gooding Productions, and she has directed and choreographed many other memorable productions including Sweet Charity, The Addams Family, Ghost Quartet, A Chorus Line and Falsettos. Alongside her production work, she has taught at institutions including NIDA, Griffith University and VCA, passing on what 15 years of touring, resident work and rehearsal rooms has taught her to the next generation of performers. In 2019 Madi was nominated for a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Choreography for her work on The Wild Party. Madi holds a huge passion for her work as a resident director and choreographer, stepping into someone else's production and keeping it running exactly as it should, night after night, cast change after cast change.
