Dave Beck is one of the most dynamic and versatile drummers in Australia. Dave studied music in Australia and in the U.S.A (in New York at the Drummers Collective and Los Angeles at P.I.T) and has performed extensively both in Australia and overseas. As a drummer he has played with many artists including Lalah Hathaway, KD Lang , Sinead O’connor, Ben Folds, Ricky Lee Jones, Michelle Ndegeocello, Archie Roach, Glen Shorrock, Danielle De Andrea (Gaha), Emma Donovan, Suzi Demarchi, Renee Gayer, Joe Camilleri, Darryl Braithwaite, Lior, Ross Wilson, Tex Perkins, Lea Salonga, Grace Knight, Dan Sultan, Tina Arena, Marcia Hines, Wendy Mathews, Doug Parkinson, Mark Seymour and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Dave is an award winning jazz drummer and has performed with jazz artists such as Joe Lovano, Vince Jones, Steve Swallow + Carla Bley, Hans Ulrich, Jazzmeia Horn, Paul Grabowsky, James Morrison, Rob Hurst, Linda Oh and Fabian Almazan, Rufus Reid, Barbara Morrison, Bernie McGann, Don Burrows, Dale Barlow and Joe Chindamo. He has performed at many of the great jazz festivals around the world including Montreux, Rome, Pori, Sweden, Copenhagen, Finland, Korea and Melbourne. In Melbourne he has been the principle drummer for many of the major musical productions including Hamilton, Book of Mormon, The Lion King, Matilda, Wicked, Moulin Rouge, & Juliet, West Side Story, Come from Away, School of Rock, Beautiful- The Carol King Story, King Kong, Mamma Mia, Grease, City of Angels, Priscilla, Dirty Dancing, Dusty, Shout, Sweet Charity, Doctor Zhivago and Mary Poppins as well as touring nationally with ‘The Boy from Oz Arena Spectacular’ starring Hugh Jackman and ‘The Main Event’ with John Farnham/Olivia Newton-John and Anthony Warlow. Dave feels blessed to play regularly with friends in Melbourne’s improvised scene such as Stephen Magnusson’s trio, Scott Tinkler, Sam Anning, Matt Jodrell and Jamie Oehlers.
