AMY CUMMING Drummer & Percussionist | Musical Director, Conductor & Music Supervisor Amy Cumming is a Melbourne-based drummer, percussionist, Musical Director, conductor and Music Supervisor whose career spans musical theatre, Australian and international touring, live performance and recording. Her recent credits include Footloose the Musical (Melbourne 2025 and Australian Tour 2026), working across musical direction, music supervision and drum kit; Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical Party (Melbourne 2025); and Emily Joy’s Merry Swiftmas (Melbourne 2024). She was most recently Musical Director and drummer for Sink or Sing! at the 2026 Melbourne Fringe Festival, following the production’s 2025 Spirit of the Fringe and Edinburgh Tour Awards. Earlier drum kit credits include Tinder Tales – A New Australian Musical and Tomorrow Morning. Amy’s practice combines performance and musical leadership with arranging, rehearsal direction, click track programming and playback preparation. She works with QLab, Logic Pro and Ableton Live, supporting productions that integrate live musicians with synchronised playback. Her live and session work includes performances in support acts for Daddy Cool and The Ten Tenors. As a member of the Itchy Feet Pep Band, she performs at AFL and NBL events, including South East Melbourne Phoenix games, and has appeared on Channel 7 during Geelong FC’s AFL March to the G. Her upcoming engagements include Women Who Play at Gasworks Theatre, supporting ovarian cancer awareness. Amy also performs as singer-songwriter and live looping artist Round About Amy. Her debut single, Cord Line (2020), was recorded at Melbourne’s Pughouse Studios and features her on drums and guitar. Alongside her performance career, Amy works as a drum kit educator, ensemble coach and music workshop facilitator.
